Kaizen Seiso

A. KAIZEN

The japanese word, Kaizen means change(KAI) to become good (ZEN).

Kaizen is a philosophy from Japan, that focuses on the continuous development and inprovement in business company. Kaizen : the key to Japan's competitive success.`

Function of Kaizen 

1. Kaizen is a daily activity whose purpose Improvement.
2. A process when we done correctly can make the workplace more comfortable.
3. Kaizen teaches people how to perform experiments using the scientific method and how to learn and eliminate wasteful in a business process.

Benefit of Kaizen

1. Empowers employees to add work experience.
2. Promotes growth of employee and the company.
3. Improve quality, safety, cost structure, delivery, environment, and customer service.
4. Provides Guidance to employee and as a barometer for leadership.

5S is the basics for the employee mentality to make improvements and also to create awareness of quality (quality awareness).5S itself is an abbreviation of seiri (sort),seiton (straighten),seiso (shine),seiketsu (standardize) and shitsuke (sustain). 

B. SEISO-SHINE-KEBERSIHAN

According to Kristianto Jahja (2004:46) Seiso means to clean everything in the workplace. In the principle is do a checkup routine the workplace. 

Benefit of Quantitatif

a. Inventory control system and product is more efficiency and cheaper.

b. Minimize cost of damage in equipment.

c. A quick process and not repeat.

d. Improve of quality product.

Benefit of Qualitatif

a. Workplace situation is comfortable.

b. Employee bring a creative idea.

c. Employee morale increases.

d. Safety in workplace.

Cleaning step

a. Makro : Cleans everything and handle overall. Example: storage area and tool storage.

b. Individual : Cleaning special workplace and special machine parts. Example: around the table.

c. Mikro : Cleaning special parts and special tools. Identification and repaired of cause dirty. Example: Micrometer and gauges.
